This isn't a course you'll watch later. It's a live workshop where I build a Divi 5 design system from scratch and you follow along - in your own Divi install, making real decisions, at the same time.
Each session has dedicated implementation time built in. By the end of Day 3, you won't just understand how the system works - you'll have your own starter template ready to use on the next client project.
Day 1 - Tuesday, May 26
Build your Global Variables system
Global color variables, fluid typography with CSS clamp, spacing scale. You'll see how variables connect to each other - and why setting this up first makes everything downstream faster and more consistent. We'll use the Variable Generator introduced in Divi 5.4, which makes the whole process significantly quicker.
You leave Day 1 with: a working variable system ready for the next step.
Day 2 - Wednesday, May 27
Master Your Presets
Option Group Presets for typography, spacing, and visual style - then Element Presets for your reusable components. This is where the full picture comes together: variables feeding into presets, presets stacking into a system. Most people describe this as the moment where it finally clicks.
You leave Day 2 with: a preset library built on your variable foundation.
Day 3 - Thursday, May 28
Export, Reuse, Repeat
You leave Day 3 with: an export-ready starter template and a workflow you can repeat.

Do I need to attend live?
It's better if you do - live sessions have Q&A and you can ask questions as I work through real decisions. But if the time doesn't work perfectly for you, block a slot in your calendar to watch the replay with implementation time included. Replays go up right after each session and stay available for 7 days. You can also reach me by email throughout that period for anything that comes up while you're building.
What if I can't make all three sessions?
Each session builds on the previous one, so watch any replays before the next live session - they go up immediately. The 7-day window is intentional: long enough to actually go through them, short enough that you don't keep pushing it back.
What's the difference between the workshop and the Design System mini-course?
The mini-course is self-paced recorded video - 7 structured lessons you can work through anytime. The workshop is live: I build in real time, make decisions out loud, and you can ask questions as we go. The mini-course is included with the workshop (it's normally €169) and works as your permanent reference after the live sessions end.
Do I need to know CSS or be technical?
No. If you can use Divi, you can do this. The course uses Divi's visual interface for everything. I do include some helpful CSS snippets as a bonus, but they're optional. The clamp function for fluid typography looks complicated, but I give you calculators that do all the math.
I'm still on Divi 4. Will this work for me?
The course is built for Divi 5, but it's great preparation even if you're not ready to switch yet. When you do upgrade, you'll already understand how the new system works and have your template built.
How is this different from Elegant Themes' Design System?
ET's Design System is incredible – 400+ pre-built sections, ready to use. It's perfect if you want plug-and-play. This course is for understanding and control. You learn HOW to build a design system, WHY each part exists, and HOW to confidently customize everything. Many students use both – ET's system for content, this course for knowledge.
How is this different from just watching YouTube tutorials?
YouTube tutorials show you individual features. This course shows you how all those features work TOGETHER as a system. You get the complete workflow, not scattered pieces.
Do I need any special tools or plugins?
Just Divi 5. Everything we build uses Divi's native features. No additional purchases required.
